Bull banksia is the common name for Banksia grandis, and are the inspiration for this abstract, minimal collection design. The pieces depict the burst open mouth shapes of the banksia, working with contrasts of black carbon-infused clay through the raku firing method together with white crackle glaze to represent of whiteness of ash from recent bushfires.
